About Abby Kerr
Hello! I’m Abby Kerr, Creative Director of The Voice Bureau.
I’m a brand voice editor and specialist and a digital copywriter for entrepreneurs who want to own their voices in the marketplace and reach more of their Right People.
My work in the world spins around words, voice, and vibe. I prepare my clients to show up in their own online conversation — purely, powerfully, and sustainably.
What my work week looks like:
Write for and meet with clients virtually from the Euro-inspired café downtown, and from the local patisserie, and from my home studio with French blue walls, updating social media intermittently as my interest is piqued. Snug the headset into place and connect with both coasts, Australia, and places beyond. Laughs, luxe explanations, open-ended questions.
Correspond and collaborate with my Voice Bureau coterie of creatives. These talented people keep me thrumming and sparking.
Burn candles and drink copious amounts of water from my SIGG canteen while curating and cataloging cool ideas that help me build my own brand and my clients’. Often I do this in convo with peers, if not on paper or in the iPhone Notes function.
I’m on Twitter and Facebook nearly every day. As a social detective and a curator of relationships, I visualize connections that other people might miss. My affinity for referrals and relationship-building is a huge asset to my clients along their path — which is why we’ve built it right into The Voice Bureau‘s approach.
Street cred, baby.
I’ve got a Masters in Teaching plus real world experience slinging English and life lessons to teenagers in both traditional and alternative school settings, a Bachelor’s in Creative Writing (four years around a big wooden workshop table in Columbus, Ohio finessing fictive worlds), and retail chops from having created and run a nationally award-winning lifestyle retail store in my hometown — as much headache as it was entrepreneurial heaven, and the best baptism in branding I never could have predicted.
I watch a lot of Bravo and am unshakably devoted to fifty dollar words. And worn-in jeans with statement earrings. (It’s the only way.)
For the Myers-Briggs aficionados, I’m an extremely un-shy INFJ. My top 5 Strengths according to Clifton: Futuristic, Input, Intellection, Activator, Achiever. My Fascination triggers (see Sally Hogshead) are Prestige + Passion — The Connoisseur.
I’m Ohio born-and-raised. I live in the Pacific Northwest in a small wine country town that reminds me of Stars Hollow — the fictional setting of Gilmore Girls. I’m a podcast junkie and my Pandora station spins Feist, Mat Kearney, and Brandi Carlile. And I’m a pretty fantastic home cook with gourmet tendencies.
Beyond Twitter and Facebook (both terrific routes for quick hellos), you can also get in touch with The Voice Bureau old school. Please note that most of the time, your first point of contact with us will be our fabulous Virtual Concierge, who will route messages to me.
